"I started the Band-Aide program in 2016 to earn my Girl Scout Gold Award. I wanted to help the band program because I have always been passionate about music and wanted to share my love for it with others. I never imagined the program would take off the way it has. I was able to run the program for 3 consecutive years and loved every minute working with all of the students. This program helped me to see that teaching music was right for me. I cannot wait to see how the program grows over the years!"

"Band-aide helped me work with younger students and make connections with them, which helped me realize that I want to have a career in music education. Teaching young students gave me hands on experience in teaching, and helped me think about my instrument in a new way. As a director, I realized how much behind the scenes work must go on outside of the classroom to make the music classroom function."

"Band-Aide gave me a chance to work with students every week and confirmed my passion for music and working with children. I looked forward to seeing everyone every week and I am sad our time got cut short. I am very thankful to have had the opportunity to run the program!"

"I was unable to run the Band-aide program in person for the 2021 school year, however, that didn't stop me. I was determined to run the program my way, by creating this website. Band-aide helped me in more ways that I realized. Being the first director who wasn't pursuing a career in a music-related field, I wasn't sure if Band-aide would help me in ways it helped previous directors. It turns out that this was the perfect time to put my love for design to good use and make a platform that will hopefully make Band-aide easier for future directors, and also more accessible to students."

"I participated as a student the first year Band-Aide was established. My experience participating as a student inspired me to volunteer my time to help and encourage the younger students. Last year our time was cut short; however, I was still able to gain knowledge and experience with leadership. This year I am excited to continue with the program even with the current circumstances."

"I joined Band-Aide in the first year of the program when I was a fifth grade trumpet player. I loved band, however, I didn't love playing the trumpet. I originally wanted to  play the tuba. There were two high school euphonium players that would help the trumpets out at Band-Aide, and that is when I first learned about the instrument. I knew from then that I wanted to play the euphonium, and I started playing it in seventh grade. I never would've had the experiences I have had since starting on the euphonium if it hadn't been for Band-Aide so I want to give back to the program that changed my band experience for the better."
